Success?

This muddy and abused word. How do we really define it? Success is quite different from one society to other.

I would say it is mostly confused as material success, specially in western society. Yet there are plenty of examples of people who earn a living and call themselves as "satisfied", without having too many posessions.

It has been said, that money changes significantly lives when it helps to overcome the line of poverty. Take the example of a single mother of two small children, who struggles with multiple odd jobs and yet hardly reaches on average 1.000 USD per month. She will, almost all of a sudden, be able to feed and clothe and educate her children with an income of 4.000 USD per month. It will transform her life completely. Like a totally new world, a totally new life.

But an businessperson who already earns, say, 10.000 USD per month... and over the course of relatively short time starts earning 20 thousand monthly, will initially feel intense joy perhaps. Perhaps a larger home? ... a faster car?... And then... soon... the power of this newly found world will decrease. Life won´t be much different than before, only more exquisite tastes perhaps.

Let´s not generalize. The point is that, although money is necessary to provide minimum education, food and clothing, we observe a lot of people whot have too much of it and are miserable. And a lot of people who hardly make it, and they smile daily. Innerly and outwardly.
